Metal Shredder Maintenance and Care

Working Principle:
Metal shredders utilize the basic principle of hammer impact. The feed inlet is equipped with a filter conveyor belt. Driven by a high-speed, high-torque motor, the hammers on the main rotor alternately strike the material to be shredded entering the shredder chamber. Through the space formed between the liner and the hammers, the material is torn into sized pieces. Depending on the shredder’s operating conditions, it can be divided into dry, wet, and semi-wet systems. Dry systems primarily involve the shredded material passing through an air-cyclone sorting system to separate metals from non-metals; the entire system is also equipped with a dust removal device. A wet system refers to spraying water during crushing and rinsing during sorting.

Metal Shredder Usage and Maintenance Instructions:
1. Before starting the machine, strictly check that all parts are installed correctly, and that screws and bolts are not loose. Gently pull the belt to test rotation and check for any contact with the casing. Also check the rotation direction. Never shred flammable or explosive materials to avoid accidents.
2. During production, maintain a uniform feed rate to ensure shredding quality and normal production. Never overload the motor to ensure normal machine operation.
3. In addition to regularly checking for loose fasteners, pay close attention to the wear of easily worn parts. Replace severely worn parts promptly to prevent damage to major components. Take necessary fire prevention measures.
4. Due to the high rotational speed, besides proper and secure installation, maintain good lubrication to ensure normal machine operation. Under normal circumstances, the bearing temperature should not exceed 70 degrees Celsius. Apply grease and molybdenum disulfide to the main bearings weekly; high-speed grease is even better.
